St. Albans, Hertfordshire
This Wild Space was created on a plot in urban allotment. It was planted to support butterflies and moths, as well as to grow fruit and vegetables. The space is roughly 30 x 10 metres in size.
The space includes a large, sunny nettle-bed and a planted hedge of Holly and Alder Buckthorn, as well as a small chalk bank with Kidney Vetch and Bird's-foot Trefoil.
It also includes flowerbeds full of nectar sources, such as Hemp Agrimony, Fleabane, and larval food-plants such as Hedge Garlic and cranesbills.
