Community Space

This Wild Space is an amenity grass area on a housing estate in inner city London. It was seeded with wildflower mix to help provide nectar sources for butterflies, moths and bees and shelter in long grass. The seed mix included annuals like Poppy, Daisy and Corncockle which flower in the first year and perennials like Knapweed and Yarrow which return each year.

The space helps raise awareness of the needs of pollinators in the local community and is used as a demonstration of how to create new habitat.
